A MESSAGE FROM OUR CDMFA PRESIDENT REGARDING OUR FOOTBALL FAMILY'S SUPPORT
Our football community has suffered a number of tragedies of late and we have come together to support one another and to heal. This weekend presented us with yet another catastrophe that directly affected our minor football family, when one of our Falcon Families was left homeless by a horrific fire. Thankfully everyone escaped the fire and were not physically harmed, but they lost all their belongings.
With just a couple of early morning text messages and a Facebook post, hundreds of CDMFA players and their families mobilized. Regardless of their team colours, historic rivalries, or play-off standings, the CDMFA teams all rallied and in a matter of hours had delivered to this family clothes, school supplies, books, toys, and personal supplies needed to meet their immediate needs.
There are still more donations and generous gifts coming in as we speak, and the family is grateful to each and every one of you for your consideration. The family has found temporary accommodations and is situated to return to school and begin the process of dealing with insurance and rebuilding their home. These next few months will be long, difficult, and expensive ... if you would like to help, but are not sure how, we would suggest donations of gift cards, services, and even the emotional support of notes of encouragement and hugs.
Thank you to everyone for their generous support and donations. Despite the sad circumstances, we can be proud to be part of the CDMFA, and say with confidence that "Football IS Family."
Tracy Kociuba
CDMFA, President
HAPPY THANKSGIVING RAIDER FAMILY!

Michelle will be collecting them all, on the way to the CDMFA league meeting THURSDAY 6PM sharp to be returned to the league. Thank you to all the families who took part in this raffle, and were able to recoup a portion of their registration league fees. A survey will be sent in the coming weeks to gather feedback for the CDMFA on this program to assist future raffle processes and plans.

RAIDERWEAR: Our last shipment of Raider-Wear has arrived! We will have the new units available to purchase at the clubhouse (outside the JP Bowl gates) this THURSDAY OCT 13th 6pm-7pm. The last shipment is 170 units of Black Hoodies and T-shirts in Adult and Youth sizes from $23-$35. We also still have some old stock left in minimal adult and youth size ranges of joggers, zip hoodies, red pull over hoodies, t-shirts, fleece blankets, player hand muffs and warm base layers that will also be available to purchase. We will try to minimize the long lines we saw in our previous garage sale by having multiple tables for different sizes. Our volunteers will be able to assist in gathering other items and sizes if needed. Cash, E-transfer and debit/credit will be available as well.
PUB NIGHT: Our Team Managers have been busy selling our Parent Pub Night tickets during practice for our night out Oct 21st at Canadian Brewhouse Lewis Estates 7-11pm. This has previously been one of the favorite parent events of the season hands down! Our online 50/50 will also be drawn during this event and streamed on Facebook live! Every ticket purchased comes with a drink ticket for $7.99. Make sure you get yours soon!!!!
PLAYOFFS: Our Novice and Atom teams will have their last games on Oct 23rd to finish their season. Peewees will continue with up to 3 weeks of playoffs going into mid November. Bantams will also continue into November with play offs. Bantam game days will be Oct 29th, Nov 5th being City Finals. If they win Citys they will move to Provincials on Nov 12th and Nov 19th. Schedules to be updated as it becomes available.
ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET: Save the date, NOVEMBER 25th 6pm! More details to come as we move closer to the end of our season!
EQUIPMENT: We have been running into issues of kids taking off their equipment for either a team activity or as they finish practice and not collecting all of their items in their equipment bags causing them to be swapped with another child or left behind at practices or games. This has also resulted in a few kids coming to practice wearing equipment that does not fit as it is not theirs and as you can imagine, a safety concern. The equipment you borrow from the club each season is approximately $1000 in replacement value for each child and is your responsibility to take care of and return in full or will be charged for missing items. The club has made a large investment in crested, numbered equipment bags for all tackle kids to use this season to best support your childs effort in protecting their equipment. Please note: as this is the first season of using these bags for all levels, we are short 4, as 40 of them have been backordered by our supplier. Please continue to use any other bag you may have at home for the time being if you did not receive an equipment bag. There is no estimated timeline for their arrival.
RAFFLE: Individual emails were sent out this week for families to pick up their outstanding CDMFA raffle tickets. ALL RAFFLE tickets must be returned and signed back in by an adult over the age of 18, no later than OCT 12th to your Team Manager or Board of Directors representative present during practice. The draw will be made for all Spring and Fall raffle tickets on November 5th by the CDMFA and the winner will be contacted.
PHOTOS: Most photo orders have been handed out so if you still have not received yours please reach out to your Team Manager or Team RAMP chat to get them. Our photos turned out great as usual and the amazing staff at MVP will accommodate more orders for you to pick up at the studio. Please see the link below to order custom products and extra prints.

RAIDERWEAR: Our emergency shipment of Adult and Youth, T-shirts and Hoodies, along with more of our awesome custom toques should be here soon. I will have them sorted and ready for sale as soon as they arrive and will notify everyone via email and Team Ramp chats with purchasing info. Stay Tuned!!!
50/50: Our online 50/50 is still going strong with 3 weeks left to go and currently sitting at a jackpot of $1430! Our social media accounts continue to post the flyer weekly so please share with family and friends or use the link below as well. Our online 50/50 is an easy way to gather support for the club to continue to keep registrations costs down, cover annual programming expenses, team events and equipment purchases without being asked to sell anything or take on more volunteer work. We appreciate the help! Draw will take place Oct 21st during our Parent Pub Night and will be streamed on Facebook Live @ 9pm
https://rafflebox.ca/raffle/werfa
ELKS GAME: Tickets are still on sale for the Elks Salute to Minor Football event on Saturday Oct 15th at Commonwealth Stadium when the Elks take on the Argos, kick off is 5pm. Kids under 12 are free and ticket prices have been discounted but still being sold as a fundraiser for the club. All seats purchased are together with the club as well as all other CDMFA league teams who will be in attendance. Please note all our players will require an adult to purchase a ticket as well to attend the game with them. This is not a club supervised event. Coaches and team volunteered chaperones are only present and responsible to accompany kids from their assigned seats to the field level for any club or league activities. There will be 8 out of 29 CDMFA Atom teams playing mini games at halftime on the field. In the past our Atoms have been lucky enough to be chosen to be apart of this opportunity for years, however this season we were not drawn to participate. CDMFA clubs and players will be highlighted throughout the game by the Elks and there are lots of fun for the whole family. Gameday programs will be updated as soon as they become available to us. Please see the link below for tickets.
